Let's talk BMW M8. The newest Shmeemobile is loaded with technology and a very high specification. Let me show you around plus the Carly mobile app, which allows you to run a health check and unlock additional features. Try here: bit.ly/CarlyShmee150
Since collection of the M8 Competition Coupe from BMW's M Studio here in Germany, I've driven the car very much as a daily while it goes through the running in process, whereby it must be driven gently for the first 2,000km prior to an inspection service and oil change before things really begin. That's taken it from Munich back to Frankfurt and around the local area, before the wider adventures begin across Germany, and beyond soon - which itself answers why it is a LHD car registered here.
The spec itself features many options and a ludicrous amount of technology on offer. Visually it is presented in Oxford Green, a colour via BMW Individual that was previously seen on the 8 Series of the 1990s. It's finished outside with the 813 M optional wheels and the visual carbon fibre, with the interior wearing Silverstone and Schwarz leather. As you can imagine it's well equipped including the likes of the M Carbon Ceramics, Bowers & Wilkins sound system and Park/Reverse Assist functionality. The full list of options and spec printed out to 14 pages but I'll run you through the key and stand out features while demonstrating how the car reverses and navigates itself.
In the meantime, thank you to Carly for supporting today's video. Carly's Connected Car OBD reader allows you to complete vehicle health checks, mileage reports and code new bits of functionality. Carly offers a free lite version of the app, which offers access to certain features, that you can find out about here: bit.ly/CarlyShmee150 Additional features can also be unlocked with a yearly subscriptions, including coding and more live data. If you purchase Carly between tonight and midnight (CEST) 21st June, you can get 20% off with the code FATHERS20
It won't be long now until the running in is completed, and I'll be returning to BMW M for the inspection service and the addition of some new M Performance Parts, stay tuned!
Thanks for watching, Tim
